Usability Goals
Effectiveness
1. Faster and stable server connection - less than 1
sec to access and view whole main website
2. Fast search engine - less than 5 sec to generate
all the restaurants' name. less than 3 sec to generate specific restaurants that
meet users' criteria<
3. Well-organized results - alphabetical order of
the list of results should be default and users can choose different kinds of
order e.g. order by location, area, etc
4. User-friendly search options - normal search for
average users and advanced search for advanced users
Efficiency
1. Minimalistic
design - minimize time for downloading web pages. Avoid graphics or clips at the
main page.
2. Simple search engine - normal search engine does
not require anything but food's name.
3. Well-organized information - each resulted page
will show the information (metadata) in organized way. Also users can select
only the information they want to see in each results. e.g. price of food,
location of restaurant and bus number for the restaurant.
Safety
1. Cached results function - JWYO will have function that allow users to save their results. They can add or remove more results to their own saved results page.
Learnability
1. JWYO is not complicated to use however, JWYO will
provide
2. Step by step instruction in text - JWYO will have
step-by-step instruction pages if users want to learn more about the system
3. Flash help - this flash will show first users how
to use the system
4. Question mark icon - for each of sub functions,
there will be help icon right besides the name of that particular function. e.g.
there will be question mark icon right beside or above "Advanced
Search" label. When users click on the icon, help page will pop up and
explains what Advanced Search is and how to use it, etc.
User Experience Goals
1. Aesthetically pleasing - JWYO will provides Look and Feel design to give users visual pleasant yet still keeping minimalistic design. e.g. cute logo and visual interface in search box engine
2. Helpful and being fulfilled - Customized saved search and view results option will help users' to integrate and organize their own results and also gives feeling of fulfillment as they add their results to their own saved search screen
