Rationale: To locate a restaurant that sells what a user wants to eat

Example Scenario: John has just finished working two hours of overtime, and doesn't feel like going home and reheating another instant burrito. He decides he wants a T Bone steak, so he visits the "Just What You Ordered" website, and does a query for "T Bone Steak". Among the list of restaurants that is generated, two are close to his workplace. He chooses the first one, and is very impressed with both the service and the quality of his steak. He decides to patronize that establishment more often.

HTA:

3. Choose a restaurant from the generated list of results

Sort Restaurants based on Price, Quality and/or Location

Rationale: To allow people to select a restaurant that meets their price, location, or quality expectations.

Example Scenario: Janice has just received $30 in return for helping a friend move, so decides to go out for dinner with her daughter. She is told by a friend of hers on MSN about the JWYO website, so she decides to visit and see which restaurants are within her price range. She enters a query for "Vegetarian Quesadilla", with a price of less than $10, and a location of within 5km of her postcode, and comes up with several restaurants. She visits the one with the most clever name, and is impressed with the serving size althogh not the taste of her quesadilla. Her daughter, happy to not be eating Macaroni and Cheese, thinks it's great.

Inspiration for what to eat

Rationale: To give people new ideas of what to eat.

Example Scenario: After two hours of firing people, John decided he needs a break. The last thing he wants to think about is where to go for lunch. He goes onto the JWYO website, and notices the "inspire me" button. He clicked on it and it came up with a list of dishes from various restaurants. From the randomly generated list, the chicken tikka masala caught his attention. He really enjoyed the dish, but the portion was a bit too small.

HTA:

3. Click on "inspire me"
4. Choose a dish from the randomly generated list of results

Find new customers

Rationale: A form of advertisement for the restaurant.

Example Scenario: Jagrup, owner of a small Indian cuisine restaurant decides that he needs to somehow attract more people to dine at his restaurant. He was surfing on the internet one day, and saw an advertisement for the JWYO website. He decided to try it out and made an account. He uploaded the menu and entered the restaurant details, and within 2 months, business has doubled.

HTA:

2. Create new account
1. Click on "create new account"
2. Fill in restaurant details (ie: address, city, postal code, etc.)
3. Choose username and password
4. Click the submit button

Rationale: A way of trying to gain more business.

Example Scenario: Billy is the manager of a family restaurant. His business is doing pretty well, but he thinks he can do better. He goes onto the JWYO website and compares his prices to other family restaurants around the area. He found that his prices were about average. Since his business was doing so well, he lowered his prices by 20%, and within 6 months, he became a multi-millionaire.

1. Enter postal code of your restaurant and city name
2. Select distance from location from a drop down menu
3. Click search
3. Click on the nearby restaurants and compare their prices to yours

Create a setup that allows a minimum of maintenance

Rationale: To provide a structure for the database system and the website, and to help the owner of the site save money.

Example Scenario: Jim, the founder of JWYO, is still a fourth year student and JWYO doesn't yet bring in enough income for him to treat it's maintenance as a full time job. As he must balance his schoolwork, as well as a part time job to keep food on the table, he has set up the site in such as way that barring major problems both users and restaurants are able to interact with the site in such a way that the need for support and technical help is kept to a minimum.

Have an easy way to create and restore the database from backups

Rationale: To ensure that even if the database crashes, there is still a backup so no information would be lost.

Example Scenario: A random hacker decided to hack into the JWYO system after midnight and destroy their database because it was getting too popular. The next day, Alan, the webmaster saw that the whole database was destroyed. He didn't know what happened. The server computers were still running fine. A sense of panic came upon Alan. He then remembered that the server computers backed up the database every night so he quickly recovered all the data and the site was 100% functional again.
