Conceptual Design
Our web-based application is mainly designed for exploring and browsing required information in the application’s database in an interactive manner. This web design solution provides site architecture and navigation that are efficient and easy, just by selecting options instead of issuing the commands or building up complex search criteria. The owner’s of the restaurants can easily update their web site's content (menu prices for example) in seconds without any knowledge of web page coding
Interface metaphor
There are various interface metaphors that are used in order to make the system user friendly and simplify the process of searching. The navigational system interface contains a series of menus, scroll bars, buttons, icons or pictures that are ‘interactive’ and not passive. The web page is primarily about making choices too. This Graphical User Interface allows the user to interact with the computer without having to enter cryptic commands from a keyboard. A mouse makes choosing items from a menu even easier. It is just a matter of point and click, or click and drag.
Website System Architecture
The following diagram explains the architecture of the system. The system architecture is an event driven design based on the input from the users. Once the users log into the system, they can choose the type of cuisine that they want to eat. Cuisine can be further divided into sub-type cuisine. Then the user can get the list of restaurants that belongs the particular category that the users choose or the menu items that the users want. A particular restaurant may have different menus depending on the time of the day.
